Coming Soon: Dj Grayson/robin Without Bruce Wayne/batman and Jack Sparrow Without Will and Elisabeth

Dick “DJ” Grayson is mostly known as Robin: Batman’ sidekick. The only thing we know about him before Bruce took under his wing is that he was a young acrobat and part of the family act called The Flying Graysons. A gangster named Boss Zucco killed his parents by sabotaging their trapeze equipments.

Well guess what? You might actually get to know more about The Boy Wonder’s early years: CW is working on a one-hour series about DJ’s life before Batman called The Graysons. With Smallville probably coming to an end, it is considered as either its replacement or its companion. It will be produced by Smallville’s executive producers (Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson) – Surprise! – with Supernatural’s (McG).

According to Variety “It will be set in modern times and follow DJ as he experiences the challenges of growing up, first love, rivals and close knit family life that will eventually inspire him to lead a life of crime fighting along side Batman on the streets of Gotham City.”

He will more likely be a teen like 1995 Batman Forever rather than an 8 years old kid like in the DC Comics.

The question is: will it survive? Smallville is about how Clark Kent discovers his origins, super powers and other abilities. He also has to learns how control them and keep it a secret from his friends and the rest of the world while trying to live a normal life. Compared to it, The Graysons looks so pale. Entertainment Weekly calls it “the worst idea ever of the week” and I agree.

I wouldn’t have mind a pre Batman story with Bruce Wayne. What I think is weird is that originally, producers wanted to tell the story of a young Bruce Wayne but had to shift their sights to young Clack Kent.

Welcomed with so many criticisms, I wonder if the story will actually make it to the big screens.

Pirates Of The Caribbean’s The Curse Of The Black Pearl grossed $655,011,224, Dead Man’s Chest $1,065,659,812, At World’s End $952,420,425 and the theme park is the most popular in Disneyland.

With a franchise doing so well, it’s no wonder that Disney is working on a fourth installment: The Fountain Of Youth. It is scheduled to be released in 2011. Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa are on a race to find it. This leaves no places for Will and Elisabeth. – They are probably living happily ever after with their son at some corner of the world. – Does it mean that there will be no romance in the story this time? No one knows yet. Other detail which has been released so far is that the story will mostly be around Captain Jack Sparrow’s past and his family. It will be in the same vein as Jules Verne (big flying machines) with a visit to a lost place (probably Atlantis). It will be an adventure/science fiction pirate story – That’s a first – It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but producer Jerry Bruckheimer might make it a trilogy.

Even tough Orlando Bloom (William Turner) and Keira Knightley (Elisabeth Swann Turner) won’t be part of it, it seems like it has more chance than The Graysons.

Johnny Depp is going to be quite busy. Other than Pirate Of The Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Fountain Of Youth, he also is scheduled to play Mad Hatter in Alice In Wonderland and Tonto in Lone Ranger.
